This mature fishery created from old gravel workings that were completed over twenty five years ago. The club acquired the pool in the late 1990's, during the intervening years the pool and its surroundings had been left to nature, which has now created an attractive fishery. The pool is two acres and has several small islands. The depth varies greatly from peg to peg some areas 3-4ft others 12-15ft. The pool holds perch, roach, rudd, bream (6-7lbs not uncommon) and carp into the high teens as well as a good head tench to 5lb plus. The pool is situated next to Cullings Pool and access is the same with parking behind most pegs. We have carried out further development of this fishery in partnership with the Environment Agency. As part of their River Trent project they have linked pools and lakes into the Trent to create Fish spawning areas and refuges during the winter floods. This has benefited both the fishing in the pool and the river and has created a great winter fishery when the Trent is carrying extra water.
