- 2.5 miles of bank from Darley Bridge downstream to Cawdor Bridge (Fly Only sections)
The river has varied characteristics with deep pools, glides and riffles generally over a firm gravel base holding a good stock of brown trout and grayling. The banks are well lined with alder trees giving overhanging cover with adjacent farmland providing habitat to a wide range of terrestrials.
During the first two weeks of June there are good hatches of mayfly with general olive and sedge hatches throughout the season.
Tackle in the AFTM #5 / #6 range is ideal with Greenwells, Imperials, Grey Dusters, Adams, Pheasant Tail nymphs and Gold Ribbed Hare’s Ears in the size 12 to 16 range usually being productive.

Two hundred yards of bank fishing brown trout and grayling are present – but canoes can be a problem in summer.
