Trent & Mersey Canal

We rent 3 miles of the canal from the Canal & Rivers Trust in the area of Aston on Trent – Weston on Trent. It offers good all year round general coarse fishing. The ‘Cliff’ section near Weston on Trent offers the best fishing, here the canal is cut through a wooded hillside.

The predominant species are roach, perch and skimmers with some areas producing some good chub. The canal holds a good head of zander which generally fall to lures or small deadbaits. A few carp are also present along the length. There are two good access points with ample safe car parking.
